She writes poetry on a Wednesday

Ok, I don’t really write poetry just on Wednesdays but I think the weather and the wistful mood that I’m in, make it appropriate that I share a little today.

We all have dreams right? Some big, some small…some we forget about, some we harbour at the back of our minds- things we want to do or know we should do, but never “get around to” because there’s always something in the way.

There are so many people that I have come across who have done and achieved such amazing things, and one often wonders where they actually found the time, but I have realised that (for the most part) if its that important to you, you will make every concievable effort to do it. Simple.

We always seem to overcomplicate things when really, it’s just a matter of getting your mind right.

ok..now that I’ve said all that, here is a short Pantoum poem which pretty much expresses all of what I was thinking. You may relate… you may not?

One Day

Maybe one day you will find the time

To read that book on the shelf,

Speak to the quiet lady at the till,

Learn French or open a bakery

To read that book on the shelf

A promise you’ve made, a thousand times

Something stopping you, you cannot commit

Like the time you wanted to shave your hair

A promise you’ve made, a thousand times

“Let’s meet for coffee”, but you never do

Learn how to surf

See an opera or ballet

Something stopping you, you cannot commit

Phone her; find out what the oncologist had to say

Register for the marathon

Maybe one day you will find the time

(oh! and for the record… I’ve never wanted to really shave my hair. That would not be pretty!!)
