Snacking on the go

I was in a real rush the other day but was so hungry!!! You know, when your stomach starts to grumble and make funny noises when you’re in the queue at the bank? Yeah, that kind of hungry.

Anyway, I happened to be in close proximity to the Lifestyle Centre in Kloof Street and so made a quick dash to Wellness Warehouse. I found these in their “temptation aisle” (you know, where you see all the chocolates and yummy treats). Since I often only find carb-loaded packaged snacks, I decided to grab them. Plus, I love chickpeas! In fact my dad always finds a way to make a joke out of it. Like when my parents come to visit, he’ll look in the fridge and say,

“Where the chickpeas??!” Funny man.

They have a really nutty flavour when roasted and are so crunchy and actually (believe it or not), are rather filling too. They cost about R11 which is a bit more than a packet of chips, but hey- let’s look at the health factor!

  1. Make your own…so easy and cheap! Just keep them in an airtight container and they keep their crunch factor.
